The UK’s most successful Country act of all time continue their incredible success with their third album ‘Accidentally On Purpose’ entering the UK Album Chart at Number 3 this week.

Pushing George Ezra to 4th place, The Shires enter the chart above rapper ‘Nines’, ‘Sting & Shaggy’ and Amercian rock band ‘Black Stone Cherry’.

With over 55 reviews of the album, including 4 Star reviews, The Shires, Crissie Rhodes and Ben Earle, have proved that their Country music really is connecting with mainstream audiences and media, with recent appearances and coverage including The Sunday Times, The Sun, Daily Mail, Evening Standard, The Express, Metro, OK!, The One Show, BBC Breakfast, Sky Sunrise and Zoe Ball on Sunday.

With Album of the Week on Radio 2 and sessions on BBC 5 Live, Radio 4 and BBC London, their single ‘Guilty’ has been the most played single on Magic and the 2nd most played song on BBC Radio 2.

Hannah Johnson and the Broken Hearts Hotdisc Singles Success

It has been great to see during 2017 the success of young British Country singer Hannah Johnson particularly her two singles which have stormed the weekly Hotdisc Charts. The first single “Your Girlfriend Hates Me” was No 1 in the British & Irish Top 10 Hotdisc Chart for several weeks. The follow-up single “Morning Cocktail” is already climbing the chart as well.

Both tracks are from Hannah’s excellent first solo album entitled “Shaken” which is certainly in the running for my British Cojuntry Album of the Year 2017.

Well done to Hannah and hopefully more success to come in 2018.
